Indiana residents affected by the March 31 – April 1 storms and tornados have one month left to register for FEMA disaster assistance.


Disaster Legal Services Available

Hoosiers in disaster-designated counties affected by recent severe storms and tornadoes may now have access to free legal advice through Disaster Legal Services (DLS), which provides free help with disaster-related legal issues for low-income disaster survivors.



Flood Mitigation Assistance Grant Program FY 2022 Subapplication and Selection Status

The Flood Mitigation Assistance grant program is a competitive annual grant program that provides funding to states, local communities, federally recognized tribes, and territories. Funds can be used for projects that reduce or eliminate the risk of repetitive flood damage to buildings insured by the National Flood Insurance Program.

Survivors of Indiana’s March 31 – April 1 severe storms and tornadoes who apply for disaster assistance from FEMA may be referred to the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) with information on how to apply for a low-interest, long-term disaster loan.


Disaster Recovery Center Revisits Clinton County

A Disaster Recovery Center will revisit Clinton County from May 22 – 24 to help survivors of the March 31 – April 1 storms and tornadoes continue their recovery.

Waterbury Man Admits Theft of Pandemic Unemployment Benefits

Vanessa Roberts Avery, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, today announced that OLAJUWON HARRINGTON, also known as “OJ Harrington” 31, of Waterbury, waived his right to be indicted and pleaded guilty yesterday before U.S. District Judge Omar A. Williams in Hartford to a fraud offense related to his theft of pandemic unemployment benefits.


Spokane Resident Sentenced to 6 Months for COVID-19 Relief Fraud

Vanessa R. Waldref, the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Washington, announced today that Natasha Ann Opsal, 41, of Spokane, Washington, was sentenced to 6 months in federal prison for fraudulently obtaining more than $50,000 in COVID-19 relief funds. United States District Judge Thomas Rice announced the sentence, the most recent obtained by the COVID-19 Relief Fraud Strike Force.
