Keenon Green, who used social media to try to recruit someone he believed was a 16-year-old female into prostitution, was sentenced in federal court to 144 months in prison on June 14. 4 arrested for 2022 tractor-trailer smuggling incident that resulted in 53 deaths

Four Mexican nationals were arrested yesterday in Houston, Marshall and San Antonio, Texas, for their alleged roles in a tractor-trailer smuggling incident that resulted in 53 deceased and 11 injured undocumented individuals on June 27, 2022. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) is investigating the case with valuable assistance from U.S. Customs and Border Protection; U.S. Border Patrol; U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations; the FBI; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives; the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office; the San Antonio Fire Department; the San Antonio Police Department; the Marshall Police Department; and the Palestine Police Department.

Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Boston removed a wanted foreign fugitive to Brazil on June 23. Daniel Domingos, 26, is wanted in Brazil for drug trafficking.

Nigerian national sentenced to 82 months for defrauding elderly US victims

A Nigerian national, who was previously extradited to the United States from the United Kingdom, was sentenced to 82 months in prison June 21 for his role in a transnational inheritance fraud scheme. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Department of Justice’s Consumer Protection Branch, and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) investigated the case.

HSI, partner probe lands unlawfully present child predator in federal prison

Alfredo Velazquez-Hernandez, an unlawfully present citizen of Mexico, was sentenced by the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri’s Southern Division to 36 months in the Federal Bureau of Prisons followed by three years of supervised release for one count of transfer of obscene material to a minor following a Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Springfield, joint law enforcement partner investigation.

HSI Sells, partner investigation results in human smuggler’s extradition from Honduras

On June 22, authorities extradited a Honduran national from Honduras to the United States to face charges related to human smuggling and money laundering. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) investigated the case with help from U.S. Border Patrol and numerous state and local law enforcement agencies throughout the country. The U.S. Marshals Service assisted with the extradition.

News Release: SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) San Juan special agents assigned to the Caribbean Corridor Strike Force, working in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Customs and Border Protection’s Air and Marine Operations (AMO) San Juan Marine Unit, and the Puerto Rico Police Bureau seized approximately 328.9 kilograms of cocaine with an estimated street value of $4.9 million.

Federal agents, National Hellenic Museum conduct largest repatriation of ancient coins to Greece in recent HSI history

Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Chicago, alongside distinguished representatives from Greece and the National Hellenic Museum, conducted a repatriation ceremony on June 16 to return to Greece the largest number of stolen ancient coins seized by U.S. law enforcement officials in recent HSI history. The artifacts included 51 ancient Greek coins that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) intercepted via four separate examinations of merchandise entering the United States.
