San Diego Jason Reynolds has been named special agent in charge (SAIC) of the U.S. Secret Service San Diego Field Office. With more than 20 years of experience with the Secret Service, Mr. Reynolds most recently served as the assistant special agent in charge (ASAIC) on the Presidential Protective Division.
Promoted to ASAIC in 2019, Mr. Reynolds oversaw protective operations in support of President Donald Trump and President Joseph Biden. In addition to Mr. Reynolds responsibilities to the protective mission for the President, he managed the Divisions Counter Surveillance Unit and protective operations for the National Security Advisor, Chief of Staff and Director of Domestic Policy protective details.
Mr. Reynolds began his supervisory career in 2015 as an assistant to the special agent in charge (ATSAIC) in the Dignitary Protective Division where he oversaw protective operations for visiting foreign heads of state to the United States. Mr. Reynolds then served as an ATSAIC in the Washington Field Office where he coordinated and led planning for all protective visits in the National Capital Region, including National Security Special Events.
Mr. Reynolds began his career with the U.S. Secret Service in the Dallas Field Office in 2002 and held various roles within the agency throughout his special agent career. In 2009, he transferred to the Presidential Protective Division where he served President Barack Obama. As special agent, Mr. Reynolds accomplishments included leading domestic and foreign presidential protective advances; coordinating Secret Service manpower and logistics; investigating criminal cases involving fraud, identity theft, and counterfeit U.S. currency; along with leadership positions in the Financial Crime Task Force and Counterfeit Squad.
Prior to joining the Secret Service, Mr. Reynolds graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1997 from Purdue University and is currently participating in the United States Secret Service Senior Executive Service Candidate Development Program
