(Washington, D.C.) On June 30, 2018, at 9:05 p.m., Secret Service Uniformed Division Officers were alerted to a subject in Lafayette Park who was making threatening statements towards another individual. The subject also declared he had an explosive device in his backpack. Metropolitan PD EOD personnel arrived at the scene and cleared the suspicious package. The subject was arrested for making terroristic threats, hate crimes, and threats to do bodily harm. The subject was subsequently transported to MPD 2D for processing. There was no impact to White House operations.
