(Washington, D.C.) The U.S. Secret Service is proud to announce the graduation of its 350th Special Agent Training Class from the James J. Rowley Training Center (RTC) on June 8, 2018. The Secret Service maintains an extensive training history and proud tradition of training classes whose members enjoy lifelong camaraderie established during their time in training. Class #350 is the newest member of the Secret Service family to receive the most intensive training of any law enforcement agency in the world.
Prior to graduation, Class #350 attended a 12-week training course at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Georgia where they completed courses in the use of force, federal law, tactics, driving, physical control techniques, firearms, active shooter, suspect interviewing, and physical fitness. Upon completion, the students was certified as Federal Law Enforcement Agents.
Continuing their training at RTC in Beltsville, MD, the class completed a 17-week training course covering financial investigations, general protection, protective intelligence, firearms, physical fitness, emergency services, judgement tactics, control tactics, water safety, and defensive driving. Upon completion, the students were commissioned as Secret Service Special Agents.
Class #350 was composed of students whose backgrounds included all branches of the U.S. Military, as well as local, state, and federal law enforcement. During the course of their training, one student got married and another become the father of twin baby girls.
Beginning with 11 students in Special Agent Training Class #1 in 1953, the Secret Service, through a professional cadre of instructors, has long realized the importance of providing specialized training to its special agents in order to meet the challenges of its unique investigative and protective mission in an evolving 21st century threat environment. The graduation of Class #350 marks another training milestone in the history of this premier agency.
