(Washington, D.C.) U.S. Secret Service Chief Information Officer Kevin Nally has been selected to receive Federal Computer Week magazines 2018 Federal 100 Award. This prestigious award recognizes the accomplishments of government and industry leaders in the federal government IT community.

Mr. Nally is responsible for the entire Secret Service IT infrastructure supporting the agencys integrated protective and investigative missions, and its enterprise business/management operations. This includes worldwide fixed infrastructure supporting Secret Service headquarters, domestic and foreign field offices, permanent national level protective venues, and expeditionary capabilities supporting travel operations associated with protection of the nations leaders.

Under CIO Nallys leadership, the Secret Service achieved a near perfect score in the 2017 FISMA Information Security Scorecard and published 20 policies that modernized the IT security process to conform to DHS and NIST guidelines. These actions initiated security standardization of cyber efforts across the DHS, setting the example for other components.

Mr. Nally supported the effort to re-baseline and restructure the agencys budget to fund IT investments in 2017, increasing Secret Service IT investment oversight of its IT governance program more than two-fold, and creating a multi-year program plan to ensure continued strategic modernization, capabilities improvement, and life cycle sustainment of the Secret Service communications and IT infrastructure.

In addition, Mr. Nallys office flawlessly supported the 2017 U.S. Presidential Inauguration and United Nations General Assembly while maintaining 99% average uptime across 174 sites, with only 0.25% of unscheduled downtime, and 0.65% of downtime due to hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria.

Finally, Mr. Nallys dedication, vision and oversight has led to deficiency reductions ensuring that the Secret Service is an effective steward of taxpayer dollars and consistently exhibits sound programmatic, administrative, and financial management principles.

His outstanding accomplishments will be recognized at the Federal 100 Awards Gala in Washington, D.C. on March 22, 2018.
