The following press release was published by the U.S. Secret Service on May 18, 2017. It is reproduced in full below.

(Peoria, IL) A Secret Service child pornography investigation concluded with a lengthy prison

sentence imposed against a Peoria, IL, man.

Jordan D. Salem, was sentenced May 5, 2017, for producing child pornography while registered

as a sex offender. Salem was sentenced to 35 years imprisonment which is to be followed by 15

years of supervised probation upon his release.

Sexual exploitation of children is an alarming problem, said Bill Shink, Resident Agent in

Charge of the Secret Service Springfield Resident Office. This case demonstrates the

effectiveness of multijurisdictional partnerships and the commitment of the Secret Service to

identify and prosecute those who sexually prey upon children.

The Secret Service Springfield Resident Office maintains a multi-agency, electronic crimes

working group, which enhances the effectiveness of partnering with local departments like the

Peoria Police Department and the Peoria County Sheriffs Department, both instrumental to

this investigation.

Search warrants executed on Salems Facebook accounts and e-mail accounts, revealed Salem

preyed upon 28 females including 10 minors and coerced some to produce sexually explicit

photographs and engage in sexual acts. The youngest victim was 11 years old.

Salem pled guilty in U.S. District Court on June 28, 2016.
