TSA prevents Washington County man from bringing loaded gun onto flight at Pittsburgh International Airport
Release: PITTSBURGH, Pa. A Washington County, Pa., man was prevented from bringing his loaded handgun onto his flight this morning (July 10), when Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers at Pittsburgh International Airport detected a loaded handgun in the mans carry-on bag. The 9 mm handgun was loaded with 11 bullets, including one in the chamber.

TSA stopped 3,251 firearms at airport checkpoints nationwide during the first half of 2023
Release: WASHINGTON The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) intercepted 3,251 firearms at airport security checkpoints during the first half of 2023, which ended June 30. The total represents an average 18 firearms per day at TSA checkpoints of which more than 92% were loaded. This is an increase from the first half of 2022 when Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) stopped 3,053 firearms at security checkpoints of which more than 86% were loaded.
